It is understood by signing below that your previous utility accounts history will be checked. A utility deposit of $200.00 will be required of all new customers. This deposit will be held in a separate designated account for a period of one year. If the customer moves out before the one year period, then the town will apply the deposit to any outstanding bill and return the balance. After the one year or when the customer moves out, it will be the responsibility of the customer to contact the Joliet Town Clerk for a return of the deposit.
Meters are read on the last working day of the month. The bills are sent on the first of the month and are due in 20 days. If the account is not paid in 30 days, a late fee of $15.00 will be assessed and a shut-off notice will be placed on the residence door. If the account is not paid within 30 days of the shut-off notice, proceedings will be initiated to shut off services. To continue services, the bill must be paid in full. If you are a renter, and the services bill becomes delinquent, the Town of Joliet will notify your landlord of the status of your account.
